What can I expect from a consultation?

It’s your consultation so you take the lead in a judgment free space where the needs and experiences of yourself, your young person and your family will be heard.

Draw upon the expertise of both an EBSA parent/carer and a former Senior School Leader by asking questions and engaging in dialogue.

Don’t expect to be funneled towards a single outcome. Do expect to feel empowered in owning your own narrative and shaping the environment that’s right for your young person.

Every journey is different and our personal journey which has taken us though; non attendance, home learning, alternative provision, assessments, EHCP, Personal budgets and mainstream secondary schooling.

Is this consultation legal advice?

No. Consultations may refer to statutory guidance but this should not be taken as legal advice.

Can my young person attend the consultation?

Consultations are for parent/carers only however supportive strategies for young people are often shared and discussed.

What can I expect after the consultation?

A consultation summary containing any relevant signposting, links, letter templates as well as a bank of strategies and resources.
